Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 16, 2024

  • We need to be in position by 10:45 am on Forrest Ave.
  • The parade starts at noon, and our meeting spot is on Forest Road. Please look for our banner
  • Roads will close in the neighborhood, parking could take time too — please plan extra time.
  • Outfitting is the same as noted below for Parents marching with our group– all are welcome.
  • SCHOOL COSTUMES IN THE SPRINGFIELD PARADE FOR ALL DANCERS WHO OWN ONE PLEASE
The viewing stand is at the end of the parade route – on the 200 block of Saxer Avenue (near the Springfield firehouse). Dancers will finish there and can be picked up at the Gas Station on the corner of Saxer Ave. and Powell Road.

Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Sunday, March 10th, 2024

Theme: St. Patrick, Bless Philadelphia with a new dawn of hope

Champion Group is # 71, meet by 10:15 NORTH side of JFK between 16th & 17th sts.

Grade-Level Group is #119, meet by 10:15 SOUTH side of JFK between 16th & 17th Sts.

 

  • All dancers in the Line of March must wear the official St.Patrick’s Day Parade Badge. Badges are included in your $25 parade participation/practice fee.
  • Parents who would like to March behind our group, you are welcome. It is not expected but is an option.
    • Our entire group is supposed to look uniform – including Parents.
    • All black – the McDade-Cara 1/4 zip black pullover, or fleece jacket or vest  from the online store are great options– or really anything black. (note– no sweatpants or jeans per Philly parade committee guidelines WITH the McDade-Cara Scarf. If you have one– a solid green or yellow scarf; otherwise, please.
  • Dancer’s should be picked up at the end of the parade route by an adult.

Parade Costuming – Grades Dancers

Note: Outfits are SLIGHTLY different for parades vs. performances. 

Here is a “What to Wear” for our Grades Dancers – Any one of the following outfits will be terrific on PARADE DAY!

McDade-Cara School Jumper with a white long-sleeve turtleneck, white tights, white poodle socks and white sneakers.

Plain black skirt, McDade-Cara green sweatshirt, white turtleneck, black tights, black shoes or sneakers (no soft shoes).

McDade-Cara School Costume – Black tights (two pairs of regular dance tights), black sneakers/dance

ALL – Hair down, neatly curled with a soft pouf in front always looks nice, white bow or ribbon.

The thicker white or black tights for younger dancers will help keep legs warm on parade day.

ALL PARENTS will march BEHIND the dancers in both parades. Parents always look great in McDade-Cara Spiritwear with the McDade-Cara Scarf – hat too if it’s a cold day. Scarves and Hats available by emailing Sheila at mcdadeschool@hotmail.com.
